Kerri: Hi, I came by while journal surfing this afternoon. You have knitted some pretty socks. You have to have alot of patience. I crochet, but I'm not sure I'll get knitting. Trying to keep the yarn on the needles makes me wonder why they give sharp instruments to frustrated people Enjoy being a stay at home mom as long as you can - I have. My daughter and I both believe is the best thing in the world for your kids Enjoyed my visit. Feel for you having to unpack- that can be a pain
Joanne Troppello: Hi. Nice blog site.
redglory: nice dorm expressions...and people go to College to get smarter? ...j/k! Anyway, have a great weekend (thursday - close enough to wish you that.)

6 months

I wasn't sure the account mgr would let me back in. Heh. Don't know if I'll keep the blog. Don't have time to maintain it. But for those who may be wondering ...
Working ... working.... working.
Emmykin is in Girl Scouts & taking Violiin lessons.
Tiny Hiney is rotten to the core. Threw a fit last night when it was time to leave daycare. (has had 2 weeks off)
Rumors are flying around hubby's company about cutbacks, layoffs, etc
Daq is doing pretty well on the trails. I have a bit of PTSS since I was bucked off 3 months ago, but i'm working on it.
The old place is for sale... we finally got over the 'first we have to do this, then we can list it' syndrome
Now if we could get people to look over the issues & give us a fair offer. It's a nice property, really. It just looks crappy in the fall.

Accomplishments

My accomplishments this weekend:

1. War on ants is turning my way, finally
2. Set up fish tank - now we need fishy critters
3. Rode Dacquiri in the arena- cantered for the first time, she did awesome
4. Moved Christmas stuff into the closet under the stairs
5. Took recycling in - can finally walk thru the garage w/o fearing giant pile of cardboard boxes
6. Grocery Shopping - ugh
7. Took Emmy out to see Dacquiri & groomed her today
8. Started re-claiming the living room from all the *stuff* that lands on the floor

And I did all that while dealing with allergy related junk. Go Me. Nuf Said.

Home again home again jiggity jig

Returned home last night about 12:30 a.m. from VACATION. Truely, now that college is over, I think that's what life is about. Working enough to save enough to go on vacation. Tho, we really didn't 'save' for the vacation, we used tax refund money, I did have to save up my vacation time for it. Now I'm back down to next to nil for vacation time, it will be 6 months or so before I have a weeks worth again, sigh.

More on vacation another time. I did try to make a handwritten journal of our trip ... so I'll try to transcribe it to the blog with pictures when I have a spare five minutes here & there.

I miss the mountains already & haven't even been home for 24 hrs.

6:18 PM

Good afternoon

After a sucky & frustrating week so far, I took off early from work & headed out to the barn. Daq got worked today. She did well. Saddled, bridled, lunged ... nearly everything but riding her. If I get off early again tomorrow, I'm gonna do it again. May even get on her if someone is out there. It was sloppy muddy, but I needed horse time. And it was good.  Maybe I'll even remember to take the camera tomorrow.

End of the month

Things are going pretty well. We headed back to Rolla for Thanksgiving. The kids got spoiled, a lot. Emily managed to keep her loose tooth in the whole weekend, and so far this week as well. (She pulled 2 out the week before.) We got to work on cleaning out the old house, took a LOT of stuff to Goodwill  & Salvation Army. Salvation Army isn't quite as picky as Goodwill about furniture.

Right now we're planning on going back again this weekend. We have some water damage in the trailer to clean up while we have a dumpster available. I did just look at the weather forecast & it says rain for the weekend

Well, I guess my boss either likes me, or likes the way I care for my animals. I've been there all of 3 months & am now training new people. The newbie I have now isn't really a newbie. She's worked in another facility for 3 years, so she knows more about some things than I do. So far it's working out pretty well, though.

7:09 PM

Huh ... it's been a month

So, what has been happening, anyway? I'm working, working, working ... and when I'm not working, I'm trying to catch up at home. I'll go from most recent (what I remember best) to maybe what else has happened that is somewhat significant in the past month.

Work is going pretty good. My boss appreciates me, so I guess that is good, but it also means I get additional duties and sometimes run into issues of not enough hours to complete the tasks assigned. O-well.

Horses are doing pretty good. Took Rain out on her first trail ride yesterday. All in all, she did well. I need to relax & realize that she's just incredibly heavy on the front & to let her have her head going downhill until she finds her balance points. She only boogered once, when someone was riding up behind her. Good group of guys to ride with though. I want to get out and ride more regularly.

Nora & Emily are doing well. Nora is still beginning potty training. She'll tell us when she's pooped, most of the time. She'll also  pee-pee in the potty before baths. Every now & then she'll tell us she wants to go to the potty & makes it before going in her diaper. Emily's enjoying kindergarten. Her first quarter report card came back good. Almost all at above expectations, only one thing to work on right now. Handwriting will not be so hot next quarter, she just doesn't want to do it correctly.

Hmmm ... knitting wise, what have I been doing? Mystery Stole has fallen by the wayside. I'm not even sure where it is at the moment. I finished a dishcloth from the Monthly Dishcloth KAL. It was a squirrel. If you hold your head just right & squint, I can kind of see it. I think my gauge was a bit off, so it didn't show up so well. I'm working on finishing the Diamond Beaded Bag from One Skein Wonders. The bag part is done, I'm working on the straps. It's hard to sit down & knit 6 stitches back and forth for 36" or so. I'm thinking about just picking up from the other side & knotting the straps, or grafting. We'll see what happens. Maybe I'll work on it a bit more tonight.

I have done a bit of sewing too. I made myself a new scrub top. Made the pattern & everything. It turned out pretty well. I'll make a few more modifications next time. I got more fabric for scrubs, so I can work on my pattern until I get it Juuust right.

I think that's about all for now, bath time here. Maybe that will hold me for the next month.

Things

Were going well, I was getting over my cold. I did go out to the barn & ride Rain yesterday. She did quite well for not being ridden since spring. She went over the bridge & tarp without even thinking of balking. Then today, we were sitting down in a restaurant for lunch with a friend & I noticed my left ear was a little muffled. I warned Shan that I was getting fluid in my ear  & couldn't hear very well. By the time we left after lunch, my ear was throbbing. I'm sitting in the quiet basement now wishing it would stop, trying not to cry, it hurts so much. Yes, this is me whining.

Depression

Finished student loan exit processing today ... oh the things you can accomplish on your day off.

On the other hand I've made some knitting progress, some unpacking/cleaning up process. I've even freecycled a few things we didn't need anymore.

Tiny Hiney thinks she wants to potty train, will pull the diaper off at the drop of a hat ... or turd. Ick. Gotta go find a new diaper now. *sigh*

2:24 PM

It's official

My hubby's computer is kaput. We're back to sharing a machine, which is okay as long as we both don't want to be on it at the same time. Maybe next year we can splurge and get a laptop as well, so one person can be upstairs with the kiddos & the other down stairs if we both 'need' to be online at the same time.

Not much else going on here, kids are napping, cleaned off my desk, need to do dishes ... same ole same ole

Work is going well so far, I have 3 rooms to take care of now & fill in for everyone who calls in sick. Works out pretty well mostly.
